Pricing & Processing
Pricing
We sell our pigs by the whole or half pig, $2.50/lb. Live Weight. Our target weight for our pigs at processing is 250 lbs., but this can vary by as much as 50 lbs. in either direction based on the pig. We conservatively estimate the total “freezer weight” at 50% of live weight. This means for a whole pig with a live weight of 250 lbs., you should get back around 125 lbs. of meat in the freezer.
Our price does not include processing (see Butcher section below). You will pay the processor directly when you pick up your pork.
Pricing example:
Whole Pig
250 lbs. live weight x $2.5ca0/lb.
= $625.00 - Amount owed to Redbud Ridge
+ $150.00 - Processing fee owed to Whitleyville Station
= $775.00 - Total Cost of Whole Pig
Approximately 125 lbs. freezer weight.
This equates to roughly $6.20 per lb. total cost in your freezer. How do those $6.20 farm fresh, pastured, non-GMO, non-medicated pork chops taste? Fantastic.
Payment
$150.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time you book your whole or half pig.
On slaughter day, we will contact you with your pig’s final live weight and a payment request for the outstanding balance due (live weight x 2.50/lb., less $150 deposit).
Methods of payment accepted are: Venmo, PayPal, Google Pay, and cash.

Our butcher, Whitleyville Station, charges $150 for basic processing of whole pigs up to 300 lbs. The processing fee for a half pig is $75. (Processing prices are subject to change without notice, as they are set by the processor and not Redbud Ridge Farm.)
All meat comes in vacuum sealed plastic packaging.
The processor may charge more for special requests (pre-seasoned sausage, bratwurst, cured hams, etc.). We have found it best to let the customer work out their cut sheet directly with the butcher so that they are aware of any processing charges above the standard $150/$75.
The butcher will contact you directly to discuss your “cut sheet” (i.e., how you want your meat processed). This can be overwhelming to first time bulk meat buyers. Don’t sweat it! You’ve got this, and our processor does a great job of walking customers through the whole pig one step at a time.
However, if you don't like the idea of going in totally blind and would like a crash course in the basics of pork processing, check out Cut Sheet 101.
Pickup/Delivery
Customer pickup is usually available at the processor within 10 days after slaughter date. The processor will contact you when your pork is ready.
